How to Connect to a Spirit a Crystal
I have found that I have gained a great deal of information and support by working with crystals and getting to know the spirit of the crystal and conversing. Many of us have loads of crystals in our homes, but have we really connected with them? It’s like inviting a guest into your home, but never speaking with it or getting to know it. It’s time we reach out from our heart and connect with the spirit of the crystal and share. This relationship, like all that come from the heart, not only enhances your life path, but that of the crystal’s as well.
Here are some simple steps to take to connect to the Spirit of a crystal:
- Heart Connection: Direct attention to your heart and then greet the spirit of the stone offering a gesture of love, gratitude, and appreciation, by blowing a breath across the stone as a heart blessing.
- . Symbolic Details: Examine the outer appearance of the crystal in detail as this is often a metaphor for its qualities. You can also gaze at a stone for about a minute with your eyes softly focused and then close your eyes and watch your awareness for any sign of an after-image of the crystal, or any after-effect of any type – emotional, auditory, anything. An after-image may not look anything like the crystal but be a blur of light or a dreamlike image. You are entering into the world of the crystal being, so open all your senses as it can be vividly visual, completely auditory, emotional, or intensely vibrational.
- . Crystal’s Nature: Ask the crystal to show you its nature and how it wishes to serve the world, or any other questions respectfully.
- Receive Impressions: Sit with the crystal for a few moments taking in any images, impressions, or knowing you receive in answer to your questions.
- Working with you: You can then ask the crystal if it would like to specifically work with you and how. Then be open to receive your answers.
- Give thanks: Respectfully give thanks to the crystal spirit for connecting and communicating with you.
Here are two examples, from my newest card deck – Spirits of the Crystal Kingdom II – of Garnet (the birthstone of January) and Howlite, whose wintry purifying qualities seemed appropriate to start the year off.
GARNET

The source of the flow keeps you grounded and connected to the Earth as the surging energy enhances your vitality, physical health, and strength. As it flows through your heart it energizes passion and a greater flow of abundance.

Identifying Description: Howlite is a white opaque stone with thin grey/black veins.

Key Words: Purification, Upliftment, Higher Consciousness, Connection to Higher Realms
